Joseph E. Grabowski, AIA, NCARB
Vice President - Professional Services

As a Vice President at Ferreira, Joe is responsible for all aspects of The Ferreira Group, Ferreira's Professional Services division. Joe is a recognized professional Architect with over 25 years of experience. He has a unique and diversified expertise in architecture, design, construction, management of complex projects, and green building technologies.

Along with being on the forefront of green building technology, Joe also serves as lead Commissioning Authority Architect on New York's new World Trade Center Transportation Hub project.
Previously Joe developed and managed the largest geothermal system on the East Coast.

Joe was a lead professional in the planning, construction and commissioning of Ferreira’s headquarters, the very first commercial net zero electric building in the United States. This 42,000 square foot commercial building, known as the 31 Tannery project, actually produces more electricity than it consumes over the course of a year, a phenomenal accomplishment. The 31 Tannery project has received international press and won several awards including the NJ Clean Energy Award, which was presented personally by New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and New Jersey Board of Public Utilities President, Jeanne Fox. This project was also awarded an Energy Star Certification from the US Department of Energy and US Environmental Protection Agency; the 2007 Environmental Project of the Year Award from the New Jersey Business and Industry Association and the 2007 Radiant Flooring Association Award.

Joe has extensive experience with public school projects and is also an avid promoter of energy education. He has appeared on NJN Public TV program Classroom Close-up NJ on two occasions and more recently on Comcast Cable’s Talk Show on CN8, One on One with Steve Adubato.
