Project Description: Project included the demolition, construction and rehabilitation of the Transit Authority Station’s steel canopies, elevated structure mezzanine roofs, and site drainage systems for buildings. Work also included the demolition and reconstruction of sidewalk areas and bus station slabs, including construction of a dispatch booth. Existing signage was removed and replaced with graffiti/vandal resistant signage and hardware and installation of an Avian Flyaway Electric Barrier System for bird protection. Ancillary work included the necessary changes to railroad ductwork, communication cables, conduit, channels, boxes, lighting fixtures, safety switches, receptacles, photoelectric and loudspeaker paging system. Environmental considerations included removal and disposal of lead paint material, abatement of bird droppings, carcasses and nests from all work areas.
