Project Name: Route 1 Section 7L- Rehabilitation from Rt I287 to Garden State Parkway

Project Description: Project includes reconstruction and widening of 2.5 miles of route 1 from I-287 in Edison to the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge. Existing roadway was widened to three lanes with outside shoulders. A bridge over the abandoned Conrail line was demolished and a new pedestrian overpass is being built at Amboy Avenue. The Amboy Avenue northbound bridge was widened with new ramps constructed at intersections with Grandview Avenue and Parsonage Road as well as a new loop ramp at Ford Avenue. This project includes drainage, curbing, driveway reconstruction and intersection improvements along with the bridge reconstruction. Traffic signals have also been upgraded.
