Project Description: The project was Phase I of an eventual total rehab and reconfiguration of the marina facility. This phase included removal of a failed concrete seawall, installation of underground utilities, installation of concrete capped fiberglass composite seawall, installation of new underground drainage system, and installation of concrete parking areas and boardwalks. The overall project required close work and communication with Florida Department of Environmental Protection because of the close proximity to the ecologically sensitive Saint Lucie Estuary and Indian River lagoon. The close proximity to these areas necessitated the installation of new seawall while simultaneously removing the failed seawall. The project was further complicated by a short construction window and the owner requirement to maintain business access and operations throughout the project.
